35カ国の組合がメキシコの権利を要求
2月19〜25日の世界行動デーを支持して、35カ国の40組合が書簡の送付や会合の開催、行動の実施により、メキシコ政府に結社の自由を尊重するよう要求した。

世界中の労働組合がメキシコで結社の自由と組合権を守るために、書簡を送り、メキシコ政府代表との会合を開催し、世界各国のメキシコ大使館・領事館で集会を組織した。2月19〜25日に実施された世界行動デーは、IMF、ICEM、UNI、ITFおよびITUCが継続的に実施している共同キャンペーンの一環である。
35カ国で40を超える組合が行動を起こした。
ソウル、ジュネーブ、ロンドン、プレトリア、アメリカの主要都市（ワシントンDCやシカゴなど）のメキシコ大使館・領事館でデモが実施された。日本では、3月に共同行動とメキシコ大使館との会談が予定されている。
組合はメキシコ政府に対し、2011年3月に国際労働機関結社の自由委員会が出した勧告を実施するとともに、独立組合に対する攻撃を中止し、国際的に認知された労働権を尊重するよう要求した。
一連の国際的行事の皮切りに、2006年2月19日にパスタ・デ・コンチョスで死亡した鉱山労働者を追悼して、メキシコシティーで徹夜のキャンドル・デモが実施された。2月21日にはメキシコで国際連帯会合が開かれ、韓国、イギリス、スイス、ノルウェーで代議員団がメキシコ政府代表と会談した。
